When I first came to the practice years ago, I had some older dental work that was aging, that had not been done as well, and over time the doctor and I worked through that and replaced some of it. There was a bridge that needed to be repaired, and then over time I had an implant and some things like that that were very, you know, that I needed to have, as well as the cavities as they would come up. But I felt like coming to the practice twice a year over the years for cleanings and checkups has really helped maintain my dental health.
I had an older tooth that had a crown on it that started to go and had problems with it. It had to be extracted. The root broke and it had to be extracted, and over time it healed, and I came in later to have the implant put in, and then I think the doctor took his time carefully to make sure that it was ready to go and that he was doing it in a, he’s a perfectionist, and so it’s certainly, that’s the kind of dentist you want.
I think mainly the doctor’s offering the best he offers you the best option and what his opinion is on, you know, in your particular case, where the tooth is, and, you know, he does obviously addressing people’s, their need for the cosmetic appearance of your teeth and, you know, what’s going to be appropriate according to your age and everything else.

At what point, generally, you can expect a courteous professional environment, place where you’ve realized your fears and your concerns are met, as well as working through financial obligations and paying for procedures. There’s assistance there the whole way, even after the procedure. You’re really brought into the to a sort of a family practice and that’s something that can’t be underestimated.
It’s very important. It does set itself apart today because a lot of dentistry has these group offices. There’s a lot of kind of dentists, big mega dentists offices, and Dr. Peritore is still a classic old school dentist.
Treats his patients for a long time and is very thorough and you see the doctor every time. That’s been important to me, that I’ve had consistency in that way. Somebody who knows my mouth and who has been working on it for a long time.
The quality of care has been very consistent. As times change, dental practices have changed and I feel like Dr. Peritore has been up on that and able to offer new things in dentistry. I always felt like he’s very professional and very precise in the things that he did.
I would recommend this practice for a number of reasons, just because of the sort of professionalism of the office and of the doctor. I feel like he’s treated the patients individually and sometimes he’ll take a wait and see approach. He’s conservative about the methods, the things he does.
It’s not impulsive. It’s a well thought out dentistry in my opinion.

Dr. Peritore explained that, so, in order to have my wisdom tooth removed, I had to be under sedation. And he explained that it was local sedation and I would be able to function normally afterwards. I might feel a little woozy, he said, but, you know, he would give me some pain medication to, and I would feel pain, obviously, but he would give me some pain medication.
So the way he went about it, I think it was pretty cool. He didn’t show me the way he set up the instruments and everything that was needed, such as the needles, were kind of to the right side of hand, if I could kind of speak to it, kind of out of sight, out of mind for me. And then he just told me to close my eyes.
I had my headphones on and he said, go to a place where, you know, you want to be. And sure enough, when he was ready to do that, I did feel a pinch, he said. He always said that you will feel a pinch, but slowly you’ll feel the medication.
He said, it’ll burn sometimes. And that’s exactly what happened. And again, just that step-by-step made me feel very, very comfortable.
Was I nervous? Absolutely. Was I anxious? Absolutely. But I trusted him.
And that’s what you needed when a provider is giving you care. You need to establish that trust with these patients. And that’s what the practice does.
They establish that trust with you. And then you’re able to feel comfortable enough and then go on with any procedure that you need.

I was at work and suddenly after eating, I felt this, the worst pain that anyone can ever feel in their mouth and it was so excruciating. I was so uncomfortable and it was late in the afternoon and I had to, you know, find out. I lived in Staten Island but I worked in Manhattan and Dr. Peretz was in Brooklyn and so I reached out to his office and I spoke with him and I said, I couldn’t even get the words out because the pain was so bad I couldn’t really open my mouth but he could understand that I was, you know, in distress and that I needed dental care and so he said, I won’t be able to do anything because it sounds like you have an infection.
However, I’m going to send a prescription to your pharmacy of antibiotics. Take them and then I’ll come, then we’ll set up an appointment in a few days for you to come see me. I went in to see him and he said, oh, I have really bad news and he’s like, well, you’re going to have to have your wisdom teeth, your wisdom teeth removed.
I had all four still at the time and I said, I asked, do I have to have them all four removed at a time and he said, no, we’ll do two at a time and I was very nervous and I was very anxious because I knew what that entailed, which was pain medication via needles, which can be very intimidating. However, his calm demeanor and his kindness in his hands and just his body just provided me with enough reassurance to allow my mouth into his hands to be under the best care and that’s how it turned out and thank God and any of the procedures that I’ve ever had, including four wisdom teeth removed, a root canal and a crown placement, I’ve never had any complications and no other infections outside of that.

The quality of care in this practice has been very consistent and exceptional. I’ve known Dr. Peritore and his team for 30 years and I have the smile that I have because of them and I’m totally grateful each and every day for it because if it hadn’t been for him I don’t feel that my dental, well my dentition would be where it is today. I’ve learned so much in the past 30 years of how to care for my teeth, of how to improve my dental care each and every time.
They are very thorough when you come in from the minute you walk in through the front doors, you’re greeted by the reception, they offer you something to drink if you need to, they ask you when you’re in your chair what you feel you need at the moment before they start performing any type of x-rays or anything. So things like if you want to use your headphones or if you want to need a blanket and things like that just enhance the experience for me because it makes me feel like I’m at home when I come here and I really love that about him and I always joke with him about we need to find a different tool about this drilling because putting airpods on thank God we have that in these days. So my experience has always been exceptional coming here from the time I walk in as well as from the time I go into the chair going through the x-rays.
Again it’s a fabulous team because you know exactly what’s happening each and every time of the each and every step that you go through of your visit is always explained to you and you’re always asked if you’re feeling comfortable or if you need anything and then on the way out you’re always set up with your next appointment and your finances have already figured out and they’re very easy to talk to and engage and follow up is very thorough.

Well, I was in pain and I knew something was there. My face was big, I remember. I thought I was going to get an extraction because the other place I was, I had the very same issue and they extracted the tooth.
So I was expecting to get the news that I’m going to have an extraction and that wasn’t it at all. I’ve had tooth canal and I felt if I was at the same old place, I would have been missing two teeth. So I’ve had two root canal, they were not extractions.
My old place would have extracted it. The option is to get a root canal. He wasn’t going to take off my tooth.
The best option was a root canal. If it wasn’t a root canal, it would be to extract the tooth. And that’s not what he’s into.
He’s into saving teeth, tooth, not losing it. I was scared, very scared. But once Dr. P started working, he gave me time.
So I was fully numb and it was like I was getting a cleaning. Actually, it felt even easier than a feeling. They’ve improved my oral health tremendously and my smile.
Because of them, I can smile. I have an issue, I come in and they fix it. They correct whatever needs to be corrected.

I love coming to this practice because it’s like family. Once I come through that door, I am in the presence of family. Everybody is so pleasant, so friendly, they know me by name.
Dr. P, she has managed everything I would want in a dentist. Because coming to a dental place is not the, it’s a scary thing, you know, you come in and you hear the machine with other patients, so it’s really, you know, it’s a scary place, but Dr. P makes it. Although you are a little bit scared, but because of his manners, you know, he’s friendly, he’s warm, you can expect professional mannerisms and you can expect professional care.
When you come in here, you won’t leave, you won’t, you won’t be disappointed. You will get what you came in for. Another thing is finance.
They will help you with that. All my big procedures I’ve had, financing it wasn’t a problem because they worked with me. I wonder if I should mention her name, I don’t know if that’s part of it.
She worked with me, so I’ve never had a financial issue where I was turned because I didn’t have it. They worked with me, so financing is available and they make it possible.

Before Dr. Peritore, I had a very bad infection, so all my front teeth had to be root canaled. So when I got to Dr. Peritore, they had to put a bridge in, and then the bridge just wasn’t working anymore. So he suggested we do the implants.
When the bridge didn’t work anymore, the only other option really was to get, what do you call it, a denture, which would have to come out. If I didn’t get the dental implants, I would have used, what do you call it, a denture for the rest of my life. I always said my biggest fear is if I have a fire in the middle of the house, I’m running out without teeth.
I have teeth in my mouth now. People don’t think about it truthfully. A lot of my friends say, oh, you don’t have to wear dentures.
No, you don’t want to wear a denture, especially in your front teeth. You really don’t. Even at 60 years old, you can’t bite down on anything with a denture.
I couldn’t eat pizza or corn on the cob. So now, yeah, I’m able to eat pizza without cutting it. I can actually eat pizza, corn on the cob, so an apple.
I love it. I can smile again. It was scary.
You really don’t realize until you have your front teeth. Seriously, I was still young, late 50s, 60s, and I’m like, oh my goodness. So I can smile now.
I feel confident. I can eat stuff. A denture is going to fall out on you.
You don’t realize it, even though it holds in there, but it can come out if you’re eating something. At least now I know. I need to say something more that’s coming out.

Dr. Peritore’s chair-side manner is very engaging with you, you know. He tells you up front, you know, what the process is and the steps. And we’re both Mets fans, so we always joke around.
But we could, you know, we joke around and stuff and we talk, you know, because I’ve known him a long time. But I would definitely say he’s very professional. And, you know, I can’t think of the word, but like, he looks out like, you know, am I hurting you? Stop, you know, and explains everything to you, what the procedure is going to be.
The quality care is very good. Like I said, Dr. Peritore explains the procedure, you know, he’ll let you know like if it’s a root canal, the steps, and then, you know, his staff like Wanda will break down the cost for you. It’s very easy to get an, it’s pretty much easy to get an appointment.
They try to accommodate you. And like I said, break down all the steps of the price and what your insurance will pay, you know, so this way you have an idea of what you’re going to be looking at. I recommend for you to come.
It’s like I said, they try to make appointments available for you. It’s at your convenience. And like I said, Dr. Peritore, he makes you feel comfortable, you know, like it’s not like, you know, like you feel like, you know, you’re scared or anything.
He makes you feel comfortable. The staff does actually, like I said, Wanda will come and greet me. Hello.
And I’ve seen her here while I’m waiting on other patients, talking to other people, like I said, explaining all of the financial part of the dental expenses. And, you know, they explain that. And like I said, the assistant has always made me feel comfortable and the hygienists are good.
There are different ones, but they’ve been very good.

I needed implants because I had a very advanced gum disease from lack of care and also just from general poor dental health throughout my lifetime. I had the front four teeth replaced and then two in the back to start with which was a huge improvement in my smile and also my overall general dental health. Then following that I had three more implants put in the bottom and one more back here just recently about a year ago so that has really improved just being able to replace those teeth as they have become non-usable has been a huge improvement in my smile and my health.
When we made the decision to get the implants done, Dr. Peritore did give me a couple different options of what we could do. We could do some dentures, some crowns, but he walked me through the process and we decided that as a long-term solution to what I needed done with the teeth that this was the better option. So when I had my implants done I had pretty significant bone loss in my jaw and Dr. Peritore and I discussed the steps that it would take to get the implants done.
First we did the extractions of the teeth and then I was referred to a periodontist who then implanted some bone material into my jaw. We let that grow for about six months, came back, did the posts, let it heal for another six months, then came back and I got my new set of teeth. I feel great.
Having all these implants done has been a really great improvement into my dental and smile and you know I feel great. Nothing holds me back from eating and enjoying everything from you know a nice steak to corn on the cob. All those things that they say don’t need I can still do it.

What sets Dr. Peritore apart from other practices that I visited is that the long-term care, he’s very concerned about the patient’s comfort, the patient’s questions, if there’s any questions, he always answers them very honestly and directly, and also just the convenience of being in the neighborhood. Dr. Peritore’s practice has improved my smile and my oral health in many ways. I’ve had a lot of work done over the years as someone who has always had subpar dental health overall.
I’ve received anything from a regular cleaning to I’ve had nine implants put in, I’ve had dumb surgery, I’ve had root canals, I’ve had fillings, you name it, Dr. Peritore’s taken care of it for me. So Dr. Peritore has a sign in every one of his exam rooms that talks about, we understand that through our loyal patients is the only way that our practice is going to grow, and I really feel that he really embodies that. He’s a really wonderful dentist, like I’ve said, amazing chair-side manner, great care both pre and post any sort of surgery or procedure, and he just really exemplifies amazing dental service.
If I were giving a recommendation for a new patient for Dr. Peritore, I would definitely say that again his care is top notch, his chair-side manner is amazing, the staff is amazing, I’ve never had any issues with anything that has happened here. It’s just a wonderful practice.
