I got into dentistry obviously many years ago based on my ability to do science, which I really liked, and I really liked the medical field. I also incorporated that with an artistic ability that I had. So the artistry part of it was very important to me to try to, you know, bring that into a science and health environment.
I had gone to NYU undergraduate. At that point, I went on to NYU dental school. Since then, I enjoyed going into private practice in multiple areas, multiple offices, trying to find the right niche for me.
As I grew, I took advanced techniques in endodontics, implantology, as I continued to grow. And I just felt that I just didn’t want to keep doing the same thing over and over again. So I basically do every procedure and learned how to do it.
And I also have a very strong contact position with many of my colleagues who have actually taught me. So if I do have issues or questions, you know, we bring it all together, come up with solutions for the patients that make it best for them. Most of the things that I’ve done in terms of continuing education are based on making procedures more comfortable for the patients, quicker, better.
At this point in my career, I tend to work very quickly without sacrificing any quality at all, because that is the most important thing. I think that’s the best thing that I can do, is make those patients feel so comfortable in what they do, in what I do, and treating them as patients, as people, as opposed to just treating teeth, which I think is huge, and putting them at ease. I would say that the most rewarding part of what I do is having that patient come in who can barely walk in the door because of fear, past experience, etc.
And within a short order, the first visit or two, they are more relaxed, we can get the procedures done, we can help them, and then when they’re finally done, they have that big smile that they didn’t have for years of their life.
